JW Player
JW Player pioneered the internet video market back in 2005 when founder and developer Jeroen Wijering created an open source video player software. The player enabled the embedding of videos into web pages, transforming the internet. Before YouTube was purchased by Google, its videos were streamed by JW Player. News outlets started being able to embed action clips and story footage. JW Player has over a billion users and generates billions of video views. In 2015, JW Player was modified to reduce size and load time and add integrated support to allow videos to be watched on phones and tablets.
